Why Minding Your Business Is More Than A Phrase

What It Really Means To Shift Your Focus Inward And Stop Comparing Your Journey To Others

This week’s blog post comes from a reflection I originally shared in my weekly newsletter, Just Keeping You In The Know. I shared a personal thought on what it really means to ‘Mind Your Business.’ Whether you’re already subscribed or just reading along, this message is your reminder to—slow down, reflect, and reset.

When someone tells you to ‘mind your business,’ they’re usually talking about staying out of other people’s affairs. But have you ever thought about how minding your own business can actually be a powerful way to stay focused—without competing with anyone else?

This week, let’s commit to minding what truly matters in our own lives: prioritizing our peace, embracing growth, and trusting our journey—even if it doesn’t look exactly how we expected it to right now.

But what does it really mean to prioritize our peace? It means starting your days—your mornings—with intention. Be intentional about how you want your day to unfold, what you want to experience, and how you choose to show up in the world.

Prioritizing our peace is just one part of minding our business-embracing growth is another.

Minding our business by embracing growth means that if we are just 1% better than we were yesterday, we can truly say that we are winning.

When life starts life-ing, it can be difficult to stop, catch your breath, and stay grounded.  But if you’re able-on most days-to manage and keep moving despite  what life throws at you, then you’re already on the winning side!

And while continuing to move forward is very necessary, another major aspect of ‘Minding Our Business’ is trusting our own personal journey.

Trusting that wherever we are in life at this present moment is exactly where we need to be-and when the time comes for us to move in a different direction and do a new thing, we will. Trust the journey. Trust the process. Trust yourself.

Prioritize Peace by Starting With Intention

Slow Mornings And Quiet Thoughts Can Shape The Rest Of Your Day

Do your mornings start with intention- a ritual that sets the tone for your entire day-or do they usually feel rushed and all over the place?  If you have a morning routine, what’s your favorite part of it?

If you don’t have a set morning routine, consider creating one this week.

Start by evaluating how your mornings currently feel and then decide how you’d like to experience the beginning of your day- calm, focused, and intentional.

Mornings are the perfect opportunity to prioritize yourself and create the mindset needed for peace and mental clarity.

Getting Back on Track with Wellness

When Life Interrupts Your Routine, How Do You Realign?

Lately, I’ve found myself getting off track with my regular workouts and exercise routine. Life started taking over, and I let other things consume my time and energy—which meant my movement and physical self-care fell to the side a bit.

But here’s what I’ve realized: falling off doesn’t mean failure. It simply means it’s time to be intentional again-and realign with my goals and the routines that I know work for me. So, this week, I’m giving myself grace and gradually easing back into my workout routine.

If you’ve fallen off too, you’re not alone. Start small. Start gently. But most importantly—start again. You will get back to where you need to be. Don’t be so hard on yourself-it happens.

Inspiration Lives In Your Favorite Spaces
Make Time For The Spaces That Restore You

As I always say—sometimes, the best thing you can do for yourself is visit your favorite spot, whether it’s a cozy coffee shop, a quiet park, or your go-to restaurant.

This week, make it a point to visit that space intentionally. Go not just to unwind, but to listen—to your thoughts, your heart, and your creativity.  As a blogger and content creator, I often find that inspiration flows more freely when I’m in a place that brings me peace.

When we mind our business, we give ourselves the opportunity to realign and draw clarity from the environments that support us. A familiar space can offer just what you need to reset, refocus, and even spark your next idea.

Is there a familiar spot that always helps you reset? Make time for it this week. 🌿
